Seattle's oldest non-profit organization, Seattle Milk Fund began with circles of volunteers donating jugs of milk to needy families over 100 years ago. As they transition into an organization that provides financial aid grants for single mothers, I was asked to design a new identity, corresponding design system and website.
Though a small organization, SMF's identity system was an inconsistent, ever-changing kit of parts. The new system provides consistency across all platforms, making communication from SMF instantly recognizable. With 100 years of civic service, Seattle Milk Fund's history mirrors that of a developing Seattle. As such, that history is a central component throughout the identity system. I combed through their physical archives to find signature stories and imagery, and incorporate them whenever possible. The project is on-going and new examples will be published as they develop.
